Unity World Day of Prayer: Thursday, September 9th. There is a sign-up sheet for ½-hour increments from 8am-4pm – we are hoping to have 2 people signed up to hold the sacred space in the office (all you have to do is focus on love - or your own wholeness – or the world’s wholeness). Of course, you are welcome to come throughout the day without having signed up, too. Inter-faith ceremony at Regan Beach, 5:30pm: we’ll be blessing the Earth and waters, as we celebrate the living flow of God in our lives. Bring a little water from your special spot for our ceremony.

HARVESTING OUR DREAMS: Our 3rd annual fun(d)raiser at Harvey’s is coming up October 22nd. Tickets (available soon) are $30, which includes a full dinner, musical entertainment (a mini-Unity revival with Kristina and the music directors from the Unity centers in Carson City and Reno), hanging out with each other and a silent auction! It’s been a blast the last 2 years so come join in the fun and help support UATL’s mission and vision, too!

We are looking for silent auction donations! For example, if you know a hairdresser or masseuse, or frequent a store or restaurant and you feel comfortable enough to ask them about a donation PLEASE CONTACT HILLARY OR KATHI O FIRST – we do not want to ask the same person multiple times. You can also participate by donating something yourself or by purchasing a gift certificate as a donation. ALL DONATIONS LOVINGLY ACCEPTED RIGHT NOW…PLEASE DON’T WAIT FOR THE LAST MINUTE!

YEP teachers being sought: Our program resumes September 12th. You don’t need any experience, just a willingness to see the holy face of each child. You don’t even have to know what to do…you can sit in on a Sunday YEP class to get a “feel” for it, you & Hillary can go over ideas and together we can come up with a lesson plan, too. You don’t even have to volunteer once a month, once in a while would be extremely helpful. You must be a member of UATL or state an intention to become a member.

October 17th: Guest Speaker/Musician Dada Nabhaniilananda will be here to lead our service. Dada has been a meditation teacher and yoga monk for more than 30 years, as well as being a published author and a popular musician. Using heartfelt music and stories, he awakens a higher spiritual awareness and a sense of oneness with all life.

Re‐circulation Sundays: The 3rd Sunday of each month (July 18th and August 15th)Bring up to 3 gently used items in good condition that you would like to pass along. All items will then be available for a love offering.

OneHeart Drumming: The 4th Sunday of each month (August 22nd). Always a fun and uplifting time to join & celebrate the unique heartbeat of God within us all! Come create & express your joy through the rhythms of the divine! Some drums & percussion will be provided, or bring your own. Dancers & listeners invited too! World Day of Prayer - Thursday, September 9th We will hold an all day silent prayer vigil in our office sacred space. Sign up for half hour time slots (or more), or come by anytime during the day to simply sit in the presence of love and send it out to the world. Experience the dynamic and vibrant flow of open minds and hearts by joining with thousands of others in prayer. Join us in affirming throughout the day: We are living expressions of Divine light flowing forth into the world. Then come together for an inter-faith prayer and blessing ceremony at 5:30PM at Regan Beach. We’ll bless the Earth and all her waters (we invite you to bring some water from your favorite sacred water spot). We will also be unveiling Unity at the Lake’s new Peace Pole! Sure to be a beautiful, joyful and deeply meaningful ceremony.

"Sing The Steps To Oneness" with Elaine Silver Friday, Sept 17th, 7-9PM in the office. Enjoy a special concert/workshop featuring Elaine Silver (A.K.A. "Faerie" Elaine), a seasoned performer, touring musician and recording artist with a voice you’ll never forget. She utilizes energies of the heart, body, mind and spirit, as well as some refreshing humor and a sprinkling of magic, for a delightful and deeply sacred experience. Elaine will present "Sing the Steps To Oneness," a program that teaches affirmative prayer using music and song. Get ready to raise the vibratory rate in the room! Refreshments will be served. Suggested love offering $15-20.

Kite Flying/Appreciation Picnic Sunday, Sept 26th immediately after Sunday service, at Baldwin Beach. Join us for our 8th annual Bob Mannle memorial kite flying and volunteer appreciation picnic! Help celebrate Unity at the Lake’s 16th anniversary with this wonderful event. We will fly kites, enjoy the sunshine & fellowship, our OneHeart drum gathering will be part of the festivities (details below - bring a drum!), and of course we’ll break bread (or at least pizza) together and celebrate each other (our plan is to decorate the kites the week beforehand – come by during our office hours to make yours).

Concert & Workshop with Dada Nabhaniilananda Sunday, Oct 17th, 12:30PM at the SLT Senior Center In addition to blessing our Sunday celebration service, Dada will share a concert and chanting workshop: “Warriors of the Rainbow” A concert and multimedia presentation on a theme of spirituality and environment. Based on Dada’s musical recording of the same title, this performance includes folk songs and ballads that explore our love for God, one other, and the planet. “Heart Circle” Kiirtan This workshop is all about experiencing spiritual bliss first hand through chanting and spiritual communion. Dada explains the science of sound, chakras and mantra, and then we practice a special circle chant that is pretty much a guaranteed recipe for instant bliss. Bring tissues.

Basics of Unity - Oct 19th, 6:30PM, or Sunday, Oct 24th, 12:30PM in the office. Join Stew & Hillary for a stimulating and inspiring exploration into Unity’s metaphysical principles. Perfect for someone new to Unity, or as a wonderful refresher. It is also a pre-requisite for those considering membership (see section on membership elsewhere in this newsletter). This discussion will be offered twice to give you a better opportunity to attend one of them; please reserve your spot.

Prayer/Meditation Circle: Every Wednesday, Noon to 12:45PM in the office. The best 45 minute God vacation/spa package you can give yourself! Bask in the love of God as you are guided into a short meditation, then send that love out to the world in a sacred ceremony honoring all of our prayer requests from the week.

“Awakening Wednesdays”: Every Wednesday night IN THE OFFICE from 6:30 - 8:00pm. We gather for ongoing book study, meditation, heart-opening and spirited discussion, tool sharing and, generally, furthering our spiritual awareness and understanding. Come join this sacred, fun and beautiful gathering!

Healing Circles: Our next healing circle is Monday, September 13th, 6:30pm SHARP at Regan Beach (weather permitting). Beginning in October, we are moving back into the office and to a new day and time: the first Tuesday of the month, at 2:00pm (Oct 5th and Nov 2nd). Together we all learn how to hold the high watch for ourselves and others. When we have a large circle of people involved the energy fairly sizzles! This is simply one of the best ways we know to align our minds with Divine Mind and claim our Divine Inheritance!!

Meditation Circle: The 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings of the month (we will not be meeting on Sept 5th…so Sept 19th, Oct 3rd and 17th) at Regan Beach, 6:30-7:00PM. Join us as we sit in the beauty of nature and in the beauty of our own divine awareness. We’ll meet in the office if the weather is inclement…check with us on location if you are unsure.

Dedicated Prayer Chaplains are available to pray with you after each Sunday Celebration service until 11:45am. You can find them at our Prayer Chaplain Corner, wearing a stole. Blessed be!

YEP CORNER

Our Youth Empowerment Program, affectionately known as YEP, is asking for your support. It has been blessed to have 4 wonderful ladies, Sarah Knox, Pepper Smith, Jamie Kendek and Monica Givens-Day, be the coordinator over the years. They have cared for and mentored our youth with love, wisdom and compassion. They have shared generously of their time and talents to insure that our beloved young ones grow up knowing that they are special, loved and powerful as they learn to align their consciousness in God, just as we do during our Sunday celebration service. We now find ourselves in the position of seeking teachers. No special skills are needed other than a willingness to see God in each child’s face and help them to see it in themselves and each other as well…oh, yes, and a willingness to play. If you believe our children are important and this calls to you, we (Hillary) can do a few weeks of YEP together until you feel more confident. Thereafter, you can teach YEP as seldom or as often as you desire. You will know no greater joy. Email Us if interested.
